Shannon Stuebs (AE), Psychology - Counseling

Faculty: Terisa Gabrielsen

Shannon is starting her third year in the counseling psychology Ph.D. program at Brigham Young University this fall. She has enjoyed working in a variety of mental health settings including crisis care, community mental health, a college counseling center, and outpatient neuropsychological testing, and will be starting work in assessment and counseling with children and adolescents this fall.

Growing up in Wisconsin, she is an avid Packer fan although she does not miss the cold winters of the frozen tundra. She moved to Las Vegas with her husband and two cats in 2018 where she completed her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and found that she loves the beauty of the desert. When not doing schoolwork (which feels like a rare thing in grad school), she enjoys caring for her houseplants, playing with her cats, weightlifting, strolling around IKEA, and going on adventures with her husband, Jared. She is a certified scuba diver and looking forward to a chance to dive with sharks.

Shannon enjoys psychological assessment and hopes to have this as a focus of her career. She is thrilled to be part of URLEND to increase her knowledge and experience in neurodevelopmental and other related disabilities to be able to serve this population.
