Jessie Allery, Applied Behavior Analysis

Faculty: Hilory

Jessie is a board-certified behavior analyst working for the North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities (NDCPD). She completed her Bachelor's degree at Minot State University and her Master's degree at the University of North Dakota. She has over 10 years of experience working in K-12 public schools across ND as a special education teacher. Eight of those years were spent living and working in the reservation communities. For the last two years, she has worked in early intervention (birth to three) and supports families with behavioral concerns in the home and community settings.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her corgi, Sookie. Jessie grew up on the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa reservation in ND, she jokes that if she climbs on the roof of her childhood home she can see Canada. She enjoys teaching others about her Chippewa/Ojibwe/Metis culture and learning from her elders. Jessie has recently begun to learn about her Hispanic heritage and is loving everything, especially the food! Connecting with and building a safe space to celebrate diversity is a passion of hers.

Recently a co-worker told Jessie "You're like a fungus, you grow on people." She is looking forward to seeing if this is true for her URLEND cohorts as well. ha! Jessie is excited to complete the program to meet and collaborate with others in our evolving field, as well as to increase her skill set in supporting the families she works with.
