Emily Breed, Speech-Language Pathology

Faculty: Daphne Hartzheim

Emily Breed is a University of Utah graduate student studying Speech-Language Pathology. She is from Seattle, Washington, and moved to Utah in the summer of 2019. She currently lives in Utah County with her husband and dog. She enjoys spending time outside with her family and dreams of having time to travel.

Her road to speech began with an interest in elementary education. She first heard about Speech-Language Pathology during one of her literacy courses and was encouraged by her professor to research what Speech-Language Pathologists did. Her passion for communication disorders increased as she worked as a Registered Behavioral Technician providing one-to-one ABA therapy. At that same center, she worked as an ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. She continues to work with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the University of Speech and Hearing to improve her client's communication.
