Deborah Tor, School Psychology

Faculty: Gretchen Peacock

Deborah Tor is a doctoral student in the school psychology program at the University of Utah. She is passionate about education, psychology, and autism. Her interest in autism was seeded by her first-hand experiences as a licensed teacher, where she taught typically developing children and children with neurodevelopmental disabilities in inclusive classrooms. Her research interests are in vocational social skills and managing the transition from school to the workforce. She aspires to develop, implement, and evaluate assessment instruments and intervention programs to support youths with autism and their families. She is participating in URLEND because of the program's strong emphasis on interdisciplinary partnerships, family-focused care, and culturally responsive interventions. In her free time, she loves to travel and spend time outdoors with her family. Her most memorable vacation was two weeks of trekking in the Annapurna Himalayan mountain range in north-central Nepal.
