Jodi Patchen, Parent

Jodi Patchen works at Minot State University in Minot, ND, as an administrative assistant at the North Dakota Center for Persons with Disabilities. Jodi moved from Northwestern Pennsylvania, a town roughly 60 miles east of Lake Erie located on the New York State border, in 2020 to North Dakota. Before joining NDCPD, she worked in the banking industry and in the healthcare field.

She is married with three sons and three cats. Jodi's youngest son started speech therapy at 18 months after being diagnosed with childhood apraxia. He was later diagnosed with ADHD and ASD.

Being able to see in person, on a daily basis, the level of passion, love, humor, courage, resourcefulness, creativity, and kindness that her son displays. URLEND felt like a natural fit. The wonders of being able to watch as his mind works through a problem are awe-inspiring, which was the catalyst for wanting to take on this learning adventure.

When not working at MSU with NDCPD. In her spare time, Jodi enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and sons. She also spends time trying to comprehend what is going through the brain of the family's orange cat, Brody.
